CSA Certification
The CSA Marks are registered certification mark of Canadian Standard Association. CSA is an independent, not-for-profit, product-safety testing and certification organization. The CSA Marks may only be used on or in connection with products certified by CSA and under the terms of written agreement with CSA.
The CSA Mark on a product means that CSA has tested and evaluated representative samples of that product and determined that it meets CSA's requirements. The requirements are primarily based on CSA's own published Standards for Safety.
The CSA Mark is so important because an independent, technically expert organization that doesn't have a financial interest in the product's ultimate profitability, determines whether foreseeable risks associated with the product's use have been eliminated or minimized. Once in the marketplace, a product must continue to meet safety requirements in order to bear the CSA Mark or the mark will be removed by CSA.
  For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator "US" or "NRTL" means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the applicable U.S. standards. If a product has features from more than one area, (e.g.. electrical equipment with fuel burning features), the mark indicates compliance to all applicable Standards.
  For the U.S. and Canada: A CSA mark with the indicators "C" and "US" or "NRTL/C" means that the product is certified for both the U.S. and Canadian markets, to the applicable U.S. and Canadian standards. If a product has features from more than one area, (e.g.. electrical equipment with fuel burning features), the mark indicates compliance to all applicable Standards.
   For gas products in the U.S.:The CSA Blue Star indicates the product is certified to applicable U.S. standards for appliances using gas or other petroleum fuel. For details, see the Gas Appliances Certification Program. If a gas product has electrical features, the Mark also indicates compliance to the applicable electrical Standard(s).
 For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator 揝ANITATION NSF/ANSI 2?means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the requirements of the NSF/ANSI 2 standard.
 For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator 揝ANITATION NSF/ANSI 4?means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the requirements of the NSF/ANSI 4 standard.
 For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator 揝ANITATION NSF/ANSI 7?means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the requirements of the NSF/ANSI 7 standard.
 For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator 揝ANITATION NSF/ANSI 8?means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the requirements of the NSF/ANSI 8 standard.
 For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator 揝ANITATION NSF 51?means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the requirements of the NSF 51 standard.
 For the U.S.: A CSA mark with the indicator 揝ANITATION NSF C-2?means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the requirements of the NSF C-2 standard.
